Andrew Weaver offers a rare blend of technical expertise and practical business application in the Cards & Payments industry, with a particular focus on fraud risk management and deployment of new technology. He brings nearly 30 years hands-on systems development, support, management and strategic consultancy experience built throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.

Andrew provides consultancy services through his company Legacy Consulting and has recently been engaged in assignments with a number of major financial institutions and supporting organisations; notably Visa (Australasia & USA), American Express (New Zealand and Middle East), ANZ Banking Group, National Australia Bank, SAS (Middle East), Payments Consulting Network, Norwich Research and Payments New Zealand.

Specialist areas include payment risk management and fraud prevention, including:

• PCI risk management strategy development and deployment 
• Fraud detection technologies, including real-time fraud risk assessment and decisioning

In addition, Andrew has extensive experience in Card Payment programs and technology, including; Credit, Debit & Prepaid product development & project management, new technology deployment (e.g. transition from mag stripe to EMV cards, introduction of 'contactless' dual interface cards and mobile payment capability - both secure element and HCE) operational efficiency & regulatory compliance and technology/business alignment initiatives.
